Supported by KIA

The Kitikmeot Inuit Association (KIA) is the sole shareholder of Kitikmeot Corporation. KIA is directly responsible for overseeing profitable development in the Kitikmeot region and ensuring that all economic activities benefit the region and its people. KIA provides insight, resources, accessibility, advocacy, and governance to support KC in its activities.

Board of Directors

Kitikmeot Corporation is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, each of whom is appointed by KIA to a three-year term. The KC Board meets regularly to review the performance of its investments (subsidiaries, joint ventures, properties and partnerships), establish corporate priorities, approve policies, and set KC’s strategic direction.

All KC Board members are Inuit beneficiaries of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement and are registered to a Kitikmeot community. The KC Board includes a member of the KIA Executive Committee and four other members; two of whom are appointed based on their business experience and two appointed based on constituency (representing East and West Kitikmeot).
